What a month January has been! SO many of you have taken on the challenge of organizing your offices, and your kitchens,  your closets, and your living areas. I have been so excited to see all of your transformations and hard work! I hope you can stay motivated to keep up your organized spaces all year long!

Update on Projects: Installing Engineered Hardwood Floors

Last month I told you that we were doing all kinds of projects, but we would be tackling one during Christmas - yes, DURING! We have installed engineered hard wood flooring in our back entrance {we call it "the music room" since it's where I teach my piano lessons}. 

Organized Resolutions: staying motivated to organize

It's January and you've been busy all month getting everything in your house so organized, you could just gush! Right? Then, February comes along and you start to slip up and let things go. Spring comes along and you focused more on "spring cleaning" and don't put things back where they go. By summer you've pretty much realized that the house isn't going to stay up to par with all your kids home from school. By Fall, the house is a complete mess again. Then, you start the year over again with the same motivation to stay organized.

 

I'm not sure if this sums up your organizing or not, but staying motivated and inspired is very important, and for some of you, having someone hold you accountable. For others, teaching your family to be organized so you can keep your sanity.

We have a problem with scooters. We only have two children, but we have six scooters. That's on purpose because I like to keep a big supply of them here for all the kids we have over to play at our house -- and I got a GREAT deal on them on Black Friday a couple months ago. So, the problem: keeping the scooters organized, standing up, and from driving us nuts in the garage.

Time for a Big Girl Room Change

My sweet little girl is growing up! We moved into this house and she was just 2 1/2 years old and she wanted PINK as her room color! Well, she's turning 9 next week and she's no longer happy with her pink room.

Going solar - we're green!

We have been working on the curb appeal of our home for just about a year now! Last year we painted the house - and boy is it a fun color - added new windows, new roof, put on a large patio cover on our deck. The only thing we had left was solar panels. We found out, from our contractor/builder, that if we put solar panels on our home the same year as we put a new roof on, we could get an approximate 25% tax write off on the roof. We are purchasing our panels {versus leasing them} and will have a return on investment {ROI} in six years or less.
